In Peru, 4 million of the countrys 27 million inhabitants are indigenous peoples who continue to face unequal access to healthcare and educational services. UNICEF works with the Government to ensure that more indigenous children are legally registered as citizens, enabling them to enrol in school and have access to national health services. Nevertheless, difficulties and inequalities persist.
